The Martial Arts America “Little Ninjas” program is a very unique martial arts, life skills and character education program for children ages 3 – 6. Our special “Little Ninjas” classes are designed specifically for building confidence and self-esteem in young children and helping learn to focus, listen, work together and treat each other with respect.
The program emphasizes building focus, concentration, listening skills, self-control, a positive attitude, confidence, respect and discipline. We do this in a very disciplined, structured, positive and high-energy class environment. Students will earn white belts with a single or double stripe every 10 – 12 weeks at a special graduation ceremony.
We Teach world-class kids martial arts programs. We offer children the opportunity to learn, grow and have fun in a safe and inspiring environment. Kids love our classes and parents love the results of improved focus, discipline, attitude, respect and much more.
Youth Classes (6 to 12)
It sharpens focus for kids with ADHD
All martial arts emphasize concentration, so they might seem an unlikely sport for a child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Yet some experts say the highly structured approach and repetitive patterns of movements (called kata) actually help ease symptoms of the disorder. “Impulse control is a huge challenge for these kids,” says Richard B. Coolman, MD, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, CA.
“In martial arts classes, they learn to focus, clear their minds of distractions, and take control of their body movements.” The environment can be a nurturing one for kids with ADHD if the philosophy of the training center is noncompetitive. “These kids are always being told they’re doing something wrong,” says Coolman, “but in martial arts, they aren’t graded or criticized. They’re not letting down a team if they lose focus. They’re simply encouraged to give their best effort.”
Teen & Adult Karate Lessons
Martial Arts America for the whole family
Martial arts have become a family affair—for moms, dads, and children of all ages. Today, almost half of the sport’s 6 million participants are kids between the ages of 6 and 17, and women comprise one-third of the student body, according to the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association. There are hundreds of styles of martial arts, such as kick-heavy karate, wrestlinglike jujitsu, and judo, in which an opponent may be held or thrown. Each delivers a great workout and is good for self-defense. But those aren’t the only reasons families sign up.
Martial arts are booming because they offer something for all ages. They help preschoolers develop social skills and improve their attention spans; they give grade-schoolers and teenagers a confidence boost while teaching self-control; and they leave parents with greater stamina, improved endurance, and a trimmer, toned body. “We’ve seen remarkable changes in the kids’ attitudes and confidence levels,” says Pam. “Our introvert, Mason, now jumps at the chance to talk in front of people.”
In addition to building confidence and self-esteem, classes in martial arts offers other benefits as well. According to Roberson, children with learning difficulty, such as ADHD, hyperactivity or behavior problems, can benefit from the structure learning program that Martial Arts America training offers.
Parents of ADHD children tend to agree. “Our son, David, participated in tae kwon do from ages 9 to 11,” says Karen Jenista, a housewife from Colorado Springs, Colo. “His psychologist recommended a form of martial arts to instill self-discipline and self-esteem in David, issues that were present due to his ADHD. David progressed to the green-belt level. Participating in tae kwon do did give David confidence — in himself and his abilities. I think it really helped him to have visible proof of his ability — the different colored belts and the awards of his achievements.”

R.E.D Ninja Warriors
R.E.D. is a smart and exciting program filled with many tools to keep you, your family and your friends, safe and secure. Everyone will need to knowhow to get away from danger at some point in life and this program provides the necessary knowledge and skills to face a new kind of danger.
R.E.D. (Recognize & Escape Danger) is a revolutionary way of approaching personal protection BEFORE (awareness), DURING (action) and AFTER an event (getting away first, hiding when possible and defending only when necessary).
Participants learn to use their mind and body to analyze a situation and create a powerful survival plan. For children, R.E.D. is a powerful “bully safe” program.
To be able to Recognize and prevent danger BEFORE it happens is one of our primary goals in R.E.D. training. The recognition tools you learn will do more to keep you safe than just about anything else you can ever do.
The program uses real-life scenarios to teach students to analyze, decide, get away and adapt in order to recognize and escape danger.
The best defense is always to ESCAPE or get away as quickly and safely as possible. This is not always easy, but there are many ways to ESCAPE danger, including zigzag running, low line running, vaulting, throwing, climbing, hiding and much more... Students learn to go over, under, through or around obstacles to get to safety.
Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady Boxing gives people with Parkinson’s disease hope by improving their quality of life through a non-contact boxing-based fitness curriculum.
Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative movement disorder which can cause deterioration of motor skills, balance, speech and sensory function. Parkinson Canada estimates there are more than 100,000 Canadians who have Parkinson's Disease and that number continues to grow each year.
Rock Steady Boxing is the first boxing program of its kind dedicated to the fight against Parkinson’s.
In our sessions, exercises are largely adapted from boxing drills. Parkinson's boxers condition for optimal agility, speed, muscular endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, footwork and overall strength to defend against and overcome opponents. At RSB, Parkinson’s disease is the opponent. Exercises vary in purpose and form but share one common trait: they are rigorous and intended to extend the perceived capabilities of the participant.
